Kollywood actor Sarath Kumar who is currenly in the sets of Mollywood movie 'Pazhassi Raja' said that the crew has not done any attempts to portray Pazhassi Raja as the first freedom fighter. The movie had stirred up a controversy in this respect as the well known fact remains that the sepoy mutiny was the first uprising againtst the british. However, Sarth Kumar denied all such reports."We have not indulged in such act. He is respected and revered in Kerala for his patriotic spirit. Historians have been saying that the first uprising against British was 1857 Sepoy Mutiny, but Pazhassi Raja fought them long back. We have also mentioned about Tippu Sultan, Marudha Pillai and Pulithevan in the film," , said the actor.The movie has Mammotty in the lead and Sarth Kumar as the supporting actor. The music of the movie is directed by Illayaraja and the movie is directed by ariharan. Padmapriya donnes the role of the heroine in the movie. The movie also has Suresh Krishna and Manoj K Jayan in lead roles.
