Poet Subramania Bharathi once said "Poetry is my profession". But even centuries before Bharathi began writing poetry, there was another of his clan who had immortalised himself by creating an epic in tamil. None can forget Ramayana nor its equally famed Tamil author _ the inimitable Kamban _ who coveted glory to be adorned and revered, envied and eulogised for so long, speakers recalled at the Karur Kamban Kazhagam’s 26th anniversary celebrations held here recently. The event was co-sponsored by Narada Gana Sabha and featured many special programmes.
