After special pujas and aradhanas, Lord Chinnakumaraswamy received the holy lance from Sri Malai Kozhunghu Amman at the hill temple around 3 p.m. and reached the foothills to destroy the asuras around 5.30 p.m. The Sanctum Sanctorum was closed after the lance receivingceremony.                                                                                    Goddesses Sri Valli and Sri Deivanai were brought from Periya Nayaki Amman Temple to Padhavinayagar Temple, near the foothill. The Lord ascended on the peacock mount and reached the battle field.
