Bella Shekar, District coordinator of Continuing Education and Arivoli Iyyakkam was arrrested on Monday evening for misappropriating funds to the tune of Rs 2 crore under a centrally sponsored projet in the district. The officer had misappropriated the funds by not paying salaries of sub-ordinate emloyees during the past year. He also forged bills and receipts to draw the funds from the government. The arrest was at the order of District collector U Sagayam, on a complaint.
