M K Stalin, Minister for Rural Development and Local Administration inaugurated Tirupur district, the 32nd district in the state on Sunday. He also laid the foundation stone for 55 development works which will be executed at an estimated cost of Rs 34.19 crore. “The formation of the new district is a step towards reducing the gap between the bureaucracy and people further and thereby taking the welfare schemes to the needy at a faster pace,” Mr. Stalin said.He also inaugurated Sulur taluk, the sixth in Coimbatore district, comprising four firkas namely Karumathampatti, Sulur, Selakarichal and Varapatti.
