The inaugural of the Tirupur district which was carved out of Coimbatore and Erode districts will be held on February 22nd. The date was announced by Mr M K Stalin, Minister for Rural Development and Local Administration. The venue will be declared today. There will be two revenue divisions (Tirupur and Dharapuram) and six taluks (Tirupur, Avinash,Palladam,Dharapuram,Kanyagam and Udumalpet) under the jurisdiction of the new district.
