Srilankan Tamil's Rights Welfare Committee organizes rally in support of the Lankan Tamil's issue  [Sunday, February 8, 2009]
   
 

                           Srilankan Tamil's Rights Welfare Committee, headed by the DMK organized a massive rally in support of the Srilankan Tamils on sunday. The meeting called for an immediate cease fire in the northern and eastern regions of Srilanka. The rally was lead by M K Stalin, Local Administration Minister and covered about two kilometres fom Munroe Statue to Chepauk Guest House. Electricity Minister Arcot N Veeraswamy and other committee members of DMK also participated in the rally.  The protesters raised slogans against the Lankan government and carried playcards and black balloons. In his speech, Mr Stalin said that it was his father who forwarded a resolution in 1956 to organize rallies and public meetings in support of the Srilankan Tamil's issue.
