CPI Tamil Nadu Unit secretary D Pandian's car was set ablaze by unidentified persons on Friday. Mr Pandian had played an active role in mobilizing support for the Srilankan Tamils issue. Mr Pandian was in Dharmapuri when the incident took place. Mr Pandian's neighbours who saw the burnt remains of the vehicle alerted his family who later informed the incident to police. Mr Pandian was actively involved in convening an all party meeting to mobilize support for Srilankan Tamils issue. CPI National Executive Committee member R Nallakannu said that it was part of some conspiracy and has requested for probe into the incident.
