Chief Secretary to tamil nadu government, K S Sripathy said here in a press release that professional colleges and hostels which were remaining closed in the state since January 31st will be reopened on 9th February. The date of reopening of the other colleges will be announced by the government later. The colleges were shut down by the government in the wake of student unrest about the Srilankan Tamils issue. Government passed the order to shut down the colleges due to the call for strike by some organizations on 1st February.
