The Vice Chancellor of University of Madras, G Thiruvasagam said that the university will have two ranking list , one for autonomous colleges and other for all colleges. The senate meeting of the university also decided to abolish the grades during the convocation ceremony of the colleges. “I will send a circular to all the colleges in the first week of April, asking them to give up the practice of inviting students to receive degrees during the convocation based on the classes secured by the students. This disparity causes embarrassment to the parents present during convocation,”said the vice chancellor.
