Kundankulam Power Project, capable of producing 3 lakh litres of desalinated water an hour will start its operations in a week. The work of two Russian reactors of 1000 MWe each are also under construction in Kundakulam. Potable water is produced by means of Mechanical Vapour Compression Technology in the plants. The scientific officer, KKNPP said that only 3 persons are required to operate the desalination plant.
