Chennai has turned out to be a centre of World attention in the 'Margazhi Iasi Utsavam' period, a season of music, dance and drama. The cultural fete is organized by more than 120 arts and cultural organizations will witness the performance of reknowned artists. It also provides an opportunity  to  young artists for demonstrating their talents. The celebrity  musicians who would perform include T N Seshagopalan, K J Jesudas, T V Sankaranarayanan, Sudha Raghunadhan, Aruna Sairam, Bombay Jayasree, Nithyasree, Priya Sisters etc..
Classical dances,  which occupies a special seat in the hearts of the Chennaiites have seen greater improvements from the traditional style. The celebrity dancers like Alarmelvalli, Padma Subrahmaniam , Anita Ratnam , Meenakshi Chittaranjan have come up with unique concepts from epics, and krishna Sankalpam for the season. The themes  are also inspired by  Thevaram, Silappadikaram, Divyaprabandam, Tirupugazh, Kamba Ramayanam, and Bharatiar.
