Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, M K Azahgiri said on Sunday that a 320 bed hospital on the lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi, would be established jointly by the Centre and the Tamil Nadu Government in Madurai. The hospital would be constructed at Thoppur, about 25 kilometres from Madurai. The construction of the estimated 150 crore worth project would begin next month. Mr Azhagiri also ensured that he would strive to provide basic amenities to the people in his constituency and would make Madurai a model district in the fields of education, industry and other sectors.
