TN government to seek help of Andhra Government to release Krishna water from the Kandaleru reservoir [Saturday, June 6, 2009]

The Tamil Nadu government is planning to seek the assistance of Andhra Pradesh government to release water from Krishna river from the Kandaleru reservoir to augment the water supply to the cities. This is following a depletion in the water supply in the reservoirs.The water storage in reservoirs is 6.1 Thousand Million Cubic Feet (tmcft) as against its capacity of 11 tmcft. In June 2008, the storage stood at 6.2 tmcft.
