T Rajendran who took over as the Commissioner of Chennai Police promised to make police stations more people friendly. " Police stations should be approachable. Every petitioner should be treated well and given a satisfactoty response. Effective steps will be taken to ensure that genuine grievances of the public are redressed at the police station level." Mr Rajendran gave instructions to the deputy commissioners of police to interact with different segments of the people such as students, autorickshaw drivers,representatives of resident's welfare associations and others.
