With participation of over 30 countries from across the world, the world Tamil Economic Conference was held here on Tuesday. The participants of the meeting appealed to the government to develop institutions abroad to help NRI's to learn their mother tongue. The meeting also revealed that many expatriate tamilians could not even speak tamil. State Finance Minister, Mr K Anbazhagan said that the respect for tamil and tamil politicians was reducing though the spirit for speaking  tamil remains high.
