Centre to seek help of Indian Diaspora to convince important governments on Pakistan's role. [Saturday, December 27, 2008]
Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Vayalar Ravi said that the centre is keen on getting help from Indian Diaspora to convince governments of the world on sponsoring terrorism in Indian soil. He was addressing a press conference to announce the 'Pravasi Bharatia Divas Convention' to be hosted in Chennai from Jan 7 to 9. Mr Ravi said that the expatriates amounting to 25 million constituted a powerful and influential group in european countries. Mr Vayalar Ravi said that the event had come to Chennai after its editions in places such as Delhi and Hyderabad primarily due to the enthusiasm of Chief Minister Karunanidhi . The event is expected to have 1500 delegates . The event is hosted by State Government and Confederation of Indian Industry.
