They say that angels weep every time two good friends decide to part ways. Music director Harrisjayaraj has stunned every in kollywoods and out of it by announcing his decision to part ways with his good friend and one of Kolly wood’s best directors  gautham menon.

Ask Harris why he took the decision and he says I know my decision has come as a thunderbolt. I have been inundated with scores of mails in the last few hours enquiring  about the reason for my decision. I don’t want to hurt anybody but I thick it is God’s wish.’

He continues, “I Believe that though a music director composes the tune, he derives inspiration composes the tune, he derives inspiration from the script and the director A bond should exist. However, the bond between Gautham and me is not that strong or comfortable anymore.”

The musician gets nostalgic and says, ‘The friction stated almost a year ago. To be more precise things weren’t all that smooth when we sat down to composes the Adiye Kolluthey songs for Vaaranam Aayiram(VA)in kumarakom. There were times when I thought of giving up the project But then I told myself that I’d already stated the project and I needed to finish it. So, we focused on that” two-three tracks of VA, Gautham wasn’t there in the studio. When he saw the film and heard the song, he sent me a message saying ‘Fabulous song, There rolled sown me eyes.” The trust that existed between us on the creative side remains unchanged

So, if it wasn’t a loss of faith in the other’s creative abilities, what was it? Says Harris Generally for a project we would discuss everything right right from the production company to the script to the stat cast. The whole team would sit and deliberate. However, this is not happening now. It disturbed me when I heard of certain decisions from others and not from Gautham Menon. He has taken certain decisions without my knowledge. Obviously the bond between us has weakened,”

Were this the only reasons?

‘In all these projects that I have worked with Gautham, from Mi9nnale to VA, I wasn’t intent  on working for any one film However, Gautham belived in that script. He said he had agreed to this film due to certain compulsion, so, I simply went along. I’m stating this because I here 30-40 scripts in a year but chose to work only on there or four. I have said no to big directors and stars. However, if you take Gautham or Jeeva, I have said no to them because of the confidence I have in them.  I expected Gautham to reciprocate.  but sadly of late that has not happened.

Was the decision mutual? who, says Harris I was the one who took this decision, “ I was the one who took this decision and conveyed it to him, “ There has been no response from  him till now.”

Explain to him that their fans are worried and he replies, “ I feel sorry for my fans. The kind of rezones I’ve been receiving for VA from here and abroad, has been phenomenal. I’ve had fans writing in from Pakistan and Bangladesh. I hope to forget this Day,”

When asked if this fallout could possibly be a promotional gimmick for VA, he bursts out laughing. It will be unfair to call it a promotional gimmick.

Will they work together again sometime in the future? He smiles and sayus.” I do not think that will happen. We may get together, but then I doubt if it will work.”
